Divers from Stanford University wrapped-up the 2025 Texas Diving Invitational with victories on the platform.
In the women’s platform event, Stanford’s Anna Lemkin picked up the victory over 5 dives, scoring 283.30 points. Lemkin, who finished 5th on the platform at the 2025 NCAA Championships, led with her first dive before missing on her Reverse 2 1/2 Somersault Tuck in round 2. However, she quickly re-gained her composure on her third round dive, throwing down a Armstand Back 2 Somersault 1 1/2 Twist Free to score over 63 points. From that point on, Lemkin held on for victory, topping the field on every round.
Texas’ Sarah Carruthers came in less than 8 points behind Lemkin, scoring 275.50 points for 2nd place. Carruthers had the highest-scoring dive of the competition with her final dive, a Back 1 1/2 Somersault 3 1/2 Twist Free that racked up 75.90 points. Behind Carruthers, Texas A&M’s Gabrielle Filzen finished 3rd in the event with 267.05 points.
Stanford also claimed victory in the men’s platform event, led by Misha Andriyuk, who dominated the event by over 33 points to a final score of 460.25. Andriyuk, who finished 8th in this event at last year’s NCAA Championships, had his slate highlighted by his Reverse 3 1/2 Somersault Tuck, which averaged 9s in route to scoring 91.80 points. This marks the 2nd time this season that dive has earned straight 9s for Andriyuk, as he previously achieved the score at the ASU, Cal, vs. Stanford duel meet.
Texas A&M’s Emilio Trevino finished 2nd with a score of 426.40 points, with his highest score coming with his Forward 4 1/2 Somersault Tuck in the 4th round to score 88.80 points. Stanford saw a 1-3 finish in the event with Gunnar Grubbs also making the podium with a score of 348.60 points.
