Women’s Recap

The Florida State women won all but one event over the course of the meet.

They were led by sophomore Mary Leigh Hardman who won three individual events for the Seminoles. She started with a win in the 200 free, touching in a new personal best time of 1:48.43. This was more than half-a-second faster than the 1:49.05 that was her previous best time from January of 2025.

In the 50 free, Hardman swam a new season best 23.26 to drop two tenths from the Auburn vs Florida State meet at the Georgia Tech Dual Meet Tournament a few weeks ago. Her lifetime best in the event stands at 23.07 from the ACC Championships last year.

She also won the 100 free in 50.53. This was a bit off her season best 50.19 from the DMT, and it was half-a-second off her best 49.91 from the ACC Championships.

The only other multiple event swimming winner was senior Julia Mansson in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Mansson swam 1:01.27 in the 100 breast, a new season best time by half-a-second. She has a lifetime best of 59.97 from ACCs, but this swim was faster than the 1:01.78 she swam last October.

In the 200, Mansson touched in 2:12.17, a two tenth add from her season best of 2:12.00, and a second-and-a-half add from her lifetime best of 2:09.68 from October of 2022. She won the event by a second-and-a-half over Alena Rozova’s 2:13.64 for West Florida.

Fellow seniors Mary Bishop (200 fly- 2:01.57) and Sophie Freeman (100 back- 56.42) also picked up event wins

Olivia Moore (500 free- 4:57.64), Liberty-Belle Horter (1000 free- 10:10.52), Maryn McDade (100 fly- 54.20), and Caroline Agee (400 IM- 4:23.33) were the other individual event winners for the Seminoles.

They also won both relays. The 200 free relay with the team of Antonina Biegajlo (23.90), Maryn McDade (22.29), Nika Steigerwald (23.39), Mary Leigh Hardman (22.47) swam 1:31.95 to win by nearly three seconds.

The 200 medley relay team saw Sarah Evans on back (25.11), Julia Mansson on breast (27.58), Maryn McDade on fly (23.62), and Nika Steigerwald on free (22.69).

Kayleigh Clark won both diving events for Florida State as well, scoring 291.38 on the 1-Meter and 331.28 on the 3-Meter.

West Florida won the only event that did not go to Florida State with Division II record holder Agata Naskret’s 2:01.09 in the women’s 200 backstroke. This time was a Division II B cut swim, coming in under the cut of 2:02.85. This swim was about nine seconds off her lifetime best time of 1:53.25 from the NCAA Championships.

Men’s Recap

The Florida State men won all but two events, one individual and one relay. Florida Southern freshman Simeon Proskinski took the only non-FSU individual event, the 200 fly where he touched in a new personal best time of 1:48.74. This swim is under the NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 1:49.89. He is still about a second-and-a-half over the 1:47.19 it took to qualify for the Championships last year.

Florida State was led by two event wins from Logan Robinson, who took the 100 free and 100 back. He touched first in the 100 free at 44.20, about six tenths off his lifetime best of 43.62 from the Dual Meet Tournament (DMT).

In the 100 back, he swam 48.47, a new best time and his first time ever under 50 seconds in the event, improving from his previous best of 50.79 from November 2022.

The Seminoles swept all the freestyle events with Walter Kueffer winning the 50 free in 20.45, Michel Arkhangelskiy winning the 200 free in 1:35.15, Utku Kurtdere taking the 500 in 4:27.78, and Thomas Matheson winning the 1000 in 9:23.79.

The other backstroke event went to Andrew Rich in a new season best time of 1:45.23. This was a drop from the 1:54.24 he swam at the DMT and is two seconds faster than the 1:47.35 he swam this weekend last year.

Marcos Egri-Martin and Tommaso Baravelli split the breaststroke events with Egri-Martin taking the 100 breast in 54.32, half-a-second over the 53.71 he swam at the Florida State Fall Classic in September of 2025. Baravelli swam a season best 1:57.87, a five second add from his lifetime best 1:52.37, but only four tenths off the 1:57.48 he swam this time last year.

Gustav Olsson (100 fly- 47.82) and Mathias Christensen (400 IM- 3:49.36) were the other two event winners from FSU.

Florida State’s ‘B’ relay won the 200 medley in 1:27.75 with Michel Arkhangelskiy (21.77), Liam O’Connor (25.00), Logan Robinson (20.73), Seneca Oddo (20.25).

Florida Southern won the 200 free relay after the FSU ‘A’ was disqualified. The team of Matheus Kunzendorff Rocha (20.19), Nino Viallon (20.04), Will Neville and Michael Tretyakov swam 1:20.21. The splits are incorrect for the final two swimmers, but they split 39.98 on the 2nd half.

The diving events went to Florida State teammates Hayden Schroeder on the 1-Meter (348.00) and Jack Bessire on the 3-Meter (341.63).
