For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
AquaStorm’s Dru Zander has verbally committed to Queens University of Charlotte’s women’s team for the fall of 2026.
l am more than excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Queens University of Charlotte.
I’d like to thank my entire family and my friends for always supporting me. I would also like to thank every single one of my teammates and coaches along the way, I would not be the athlete I am today without you guys. Thank you to the coaches from QUOC for giving me this opportunity. #ROYALPRIDE

Zander hails from Williston, N.D., where she represents Williston High School. This past week, as a senior, Zander claimed her third North Dakota State title at the NDHSAA Girls State Championship. She finished with the top time in the 100 free (51.41), setting a lifetime best in the process. Additionally, she finished as the runner-up in the 50 free, clocking 23.79, also marking her fastest ever performance.
A year prior, Zander eclipsed her first two individual state championship titles, winning both the 100 butterfly in 56.99, her fastest performance of her career, and the 50 free in 24.05.
Zanfer holds additional middle-distance bests in the 200 free in 1:58.74 and a fastest 200 IM time of 2:17.27.
Best Times:
- 50 Free: 23.79
- 100 Free: 51.41
- 200 Free: 1:58.74
- 100 Fly: 56.99
- 200 IM: 2:17.27
The Queens women finished 3rd at the ASUN Swimming and Diving Championships last season.
Based on Zander’s best times, she would have qualified for the ‘B’ final of the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly.
Zander is already within scoring range in the ASUN. With still a year to develop, Zander could make a charge for the championship finals of those events early in her collegiate career.
Zander joins Jillian Sylvester-Johnson, Josie Libler, Stella Rota, Peyton Kerby, and Emily Heintz in Queens’ 2026 recruiting class.
