Wisconsin Women Pick Up Conference Win over Illinois at Home 184-111

Wisconsin only dropped three events to the visiting Illinois women en route to their 184-111 win at home.

Wisconsin sophomore Stella Chapman doubled up on the butterfly wins on the day; touching first in both the 100 fly (54.37, season best) and 200 fly (1:58.71). Chapman also added a win in the 200 back, finishing over two and a half seconds ahead of the field in her fastest performance of the season of 1:57.41.

The Badgers also earned a pair of 1-2-3 sweeps in both the 100 and 200 freestyle events.

In the 100 free, Wisconsin senior Hailey Tierney logged the lone sub-50 time in 49.89, just off of her season best from the Texas Hall of Fame invite of 49.29. Freshman Arianna Zelen (50.66) and junior Kit Schneider (50.71) finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

The 200 free was led by Badger senior Blair Stoneburg in 1:46.45, she has been just a hair faster this season in 1:46.42 at the Texas Hall of Fame Invite. Just behind her was senior Abby Wanezek in 1:46.29. Tierney finished 3rd in 1:49.29.

Stoneburg also added another win for the Badger women in the 500 free, clocking 4:46.14. This season she has been as fast as 4:42.78.

Wisconsin freshman Brooke Corrigan touched 1st in the 100 breast as the only finisher under the 1-minute barrier, clocking a lifetime best of 59.73. She also added a 200 breast victory in 2:09.43, just off of her personal best from the Texas Hall of Fame invite of 2:0929.

Junior Ryane Neal led the way for the Wisconsin divers, finishing with the top score on both 1-meter (293.25) and on the platform (269.18)

Illinois managed to pick up individual wins by way of Michelle Kaner and Sara Jass.

Kaner, a junior, notched the top time in the 100 back in 55.13. Earlier this season she swam her fastest ever performance of 54.10 at the Iowa Invitational in November.

Jass, the Illinois senior, was victorious in the 200 IM, clocking 2:00.04. She also set her lifetime best at the Iowa Invitational in this event 1:58.66.

Illinois closed out the meet on a high note, winning the 200 freestyle relay. Isabella Wilhelm (23.10), Sophia Yousuf (23.22), Maggie Adler (22.97), and Stephanie Kirova (23.05) combined for a winning effort of 1:32.34.
